About Apostille50

Apostille50

Who We Are

Apostille50 is a focused, mail-in document authentication service operating nationwide from Germantown, Maryland. Apostille and legalization is the only thing we do – we obtain apostilles for documents issued by all 50 US states and the District of Columbia, process federal apostilles through the US Department of State, and handle consular legalization for countries outside the Hague Convention of 1961. Every order is routed by people who track each state’s current fee schedule and processing quirks, not a generalist team treating apostilles as one of dozens of services.

We are not a law firm, and we don’t provide legal advice – our work is the physical and administrative processing of documents submitted to us, acting as an experienced intermediary between you and the relevant state or federal authentication authority.

What we handle:

  • State apostilles for birth certificates, marriage licenses, death certificates, court orders, and notarized documents from all 50 states and DC
  • Federal apostilles for FBI background checks, NARA records, naturalization certificates, and other federal agency documents – processed through the US Department of State, standard rush ~2 weeks
  • New York apostilles including the mandatory county clerk certification step unique to New York
  • Consular legalization for documents destined for countries outside the Hague Convention, including embassy authentication and certified translations

How We Work

Every order starts at the Order page, where you identify your documents and your destination country. Pricing is transparent before checkout: a $100 service charge per order, plus each state’s per-document fee (ranging from $1 to $50, with a median fee of $10 per apostille). Federal-only orders are $75 per document with no service charge.

After checkout, you mail your original documents to us. We handle all routing, state and federal fee payments, compliance checks, and submissions – then return authenticated documents to you by trackable mail with free return shipping included.

You get one point of contact for every document in your order, regardless of how many states or agencies are involved.

Why a Single-Focus Service

Most large authentication firms handle dozens of services and treat apostilles as a line item. Apostille50 does one thing: document authentication for international use. That focus means current knowledge of every state’s fee schedule and processing requirements, a New York two-step county clerk process managed without the errors that cause rejections, and federal documents submitted in-person to cut processing times from the 6–8 week mail-in standard to approximately 2 weeks.

Transparency and Compliance

Apostille50 operates in compliance with Maryland law and applicable federal regulations. We use Stripe for payment processing – we never see or store payment card data. Documents and order data are stored on Cloudflare infrastructure within the United States, with encryption at rest and in transit. Uploaded digital documents are deleted within 90 days of order completion. Full details are in our Terms, Privacy & Data Policy.
